RoboMower RL850
Most of us don’t really mind mowing the lawn. It’s actually good exercise in the great outdoors. What we dread is that obnoxious drone from a loud mower along with a face full of smelly exhaust fumes. It’s enough to make you hire the kid down the street to do it. Now you don’t have to do either, thanks to the RoboMower RL850 lawnmower from Friendly Robotics. And while the name sounds like it’s straight out of a bad infomercial, this is a lawn-mowing robot that actually works. This terr... FULL REVIEW

Looking for a "green" or electric lawnmower, check out This Old House's feature Eco-Friendly Lawn Mowers. Battery powered mowers are still a few years from producing the performance you're used to in gas mowers, but they're getting better. I'm sure within the next 2 years you'll see a review of a rechargeable lawnmower on 3LUXE as a "Best Of".

John Deere just received the No. 1 ranking from J.D. Power & Associates in their first ranking of walk-behind mowers. Number 2, Honda. J.D. Power and Associates ranked 13 brands in the study based on performance (including engine power, ease of starting and cutting effectiveness); maintenance (including durability and routine maintenance demands); warranty and price.

Honda has been surpassed in the HP and torque arena. The new B&S seem to have more steam plowing through a 21 inch swath of 4 1/2 inch morning dew lawn. If you notice, Honda Power Products doesn't list HP and torque on their units. The Honda motor is great, but it's a little small in today's market.
