Baseball Glove Research and Review

There’s probably no piece of sporting equipment on the planet that summons up more memories and emotions than a baseball glove. So we kept that tradition in mind when choosing our “Best of” picks. Admittedly it’s hard to limit ourselves to just three gloves—there are just so many great ones out there. So we picked two from makers you’re sure to recognize and a third from a less well-known manufacturer, but definitely a company that takes great pride in the history and spirit of the great American game of baseball.

At 3LUXE we do the research you would do, if you had more time.

Akadema Reptilian AXX 105
The gloves and other baseball equipment from Akadema are pretty much the opposite of traditional. But judging by the response their gloves are getting—from casual rec players to major leaguers—that’s a good thing. The Akadema Reptilian AXX 105 is a good example of what we mean. From first glance you can tell this is a different kind of glove. First there’s the “near fingerless” design—it creates a more natural pocket that delivers better shock absorption and ball control. I've had an A2000 glove for years - extremely durable and broken in. It's starting to see more action as our boys are to the age where they want to play catch with "dad". Father and son catch is a lot of fun and one of those things you always imagine doing as a new dad, I'm hoping the old Wilson glove continues to see action as they grow older.
