Refrigerator Research and Review

If you haven't shopped for refrigerators lately, you're in for a pleasant surprise. Today's slick new models look great and perform even better with features like super-fast icemakers, water filters, separate compressors for the freezer and fridge and a bunch of separate compartments. And, they're remarkably energy efficient. But, there's a ton of fridges on the market, so choose wisely. You'll likely have to live with your purchase for over a decade. Better yet, leave it to 3LUXE. We came up with three "Best Of" refrigerator picks that are sure to handle anything you and your family can throw at them -or in them.

At 3LUXE we do the research you would do, if you had more time.

SubZero Pro 48 refrigerator review
It's great to have an appliance that performs well, but it's cool to have one that looks like a designer show piece. That's what you'll get in the Sub-Zero Pro48 refrigerator. The Pro48 is a stunning, all stainless steel beauty both inside and out. It has four drawers that pull out and two doors that offer a ton of storage room. You can even get an optional glass window on the refrigerator-side door. The Pro48's three evaporators, two compressors and digital temperature display mean you can easil... FULL REVIEW

But that’s what makes this refrigerator, the GE Profile with Armoire Styling, a 3LUXE “Best Of” appliance. Samsung RM257ABRS
There is a perfect temperature for all the stuff you store in your refrigerator. Problem is, it’s not the same temperature for everything. That’s because the produce stores better at a different temperature from the milk or cold cuts, for example. Lucky for us, there is a new refrigerator that can do it all. The Samsung RM257ABRS is a slick new refrigerator with four distinctly separate compartments which are controlled and cooled with their own evaporator and fan that can be adjusted with the... I queston whether you are speaking of two compressors or two condensors? I am being told it is two condensors? A big difference? Does anyone know? I read such complaints on all refrigerators I cannot find one that has not been a disaster for the consumer? What has happened to refrigerators? I searched for 5 months and bought a 2500.00 Samsung french door. The design was spacious, the day it arrived, testing the water on the door, it sprayed all over the inside, leaked on the floor and rain outside the refrigerator.
It had the ice/water on the door and each time you filled the water, the inside was covered with water and leaking all over. Then the fresh food section shut off and the freezer remained on. This is great quality control. I was fortunate the company picked it up and refunded my purchase. It is not about price, the consumer can spend thousands and still this happens. Where are the reliable refrigerators? Listen up Manufacturers! If you would make a reliable refrig. EVERYONE would buy it! Stop selling us junk! Better yet, all consumers need to refuse to pay and demand a refund when the refrigerator arrives and immediately has manufacturer problems. Why is it now that we are "stuck" with these inferior products at extremely high prices? The complete downfall of quality in America. Can't someone make a quality / long lasting refrigerator --

cananyonemakeafrig - Thanks for leaving a comment and sharing your experience with others. I'm sorry to hear about your frustration with today's refrigerators. We did some research this morning and did confirm, through SubZero's specs, that the SubZero Pro 48 does indeed utilize 2 compressors and 3 evaporators to keep food cool and fresh. Hope this helps.

I need a small refrigerator(24"-28" w, 60"-64" h, 28"-33" d) for an older home and am having a difficult time finding that size.
I have found 3 or 4 and like the looks of the Daewoo best.
I would like a review of this maker and specific refrigerator, but can find nothing.
I am not very computer savvy. What am I doing wrong?

Your three picks are side-by-sides. What about top-and-bottoms?

srdancer - When doing our research on refrigerators, we looked to identify the best refrigerators, independent of style - based on the research, the side by sides above were our selections. With that being said, both Samsung and SubZero.have great models with the freezer on the bottom.

Are you in the middle of a remodel - or just looking to replace appliances?

Hello -- great site by the way! I agree with the consumers about the poor quality of all refrigerators (and other applicances as well). I have a Kenmore Trio Elite -- stopped working at 2 1/2 years! Paid$2200 for the thing.

So - my question is not who has the best frig (since they are all poorly made), but who has the best warranty? Thanks!
