L'Heure Bleue
Founded in 1828, the House of Guerlain is one of the oldest perfumers in the world. Named Official Perfumer in 1853, founder Pierre-Francois Guerlain created fragrances for Spanish and British royalty and five generations later, his descendants continue producing inspired fragrances that are sought after worldwide. In 1912, when all of Europe stood at the brink of war, Pierre Francois’ grandson Jacques created L’Heure Bleue, which translates as “The Blue Hour.” Inspiration for the fragrance came one evening when Jacques observed by the magical hour between sunset and dusk, an apt metaphor for the troubled times to come. Like the era in which it was born, L’Heure Bleue has a contemplative, melancholy quality that draws you in with topnotes of neroli, followed by touches of carnation and iris and the smooth base of vanilla. A particularly lovely scent for evening, this “Best Of” is a magical, classic fragrance, full of history and memories.
From independent research, we selected the L'Heure Bleue as a 3LUXE "Best Of". To see our other Perfume selections visit our Perfume Overview.
