The blade is made of three metals interspersed on ultra-hardened steel call ZD-189. Some independent tests have deemed the ZD-189 to be the best blade steel ever made. And, to be clear, you're definitely paying for it. The B15 retails for about $550. (So the first thing it may cut into is your budget.) You'll find topaz gemstones adorning the lock release and thumb peg. A leather case and a braided leather lanyard add to the appeal of this "Best Of" choice. It weighs only 1.6 ounces so it's easy to forget it's there. If you do misplace or lose your B15, a unique serial number engraved on the blade will increase your odds of recovering it. Though, if we found it, we'd be very tempted to ignore that serial number.
