Someone once told Sal Glesser, the owner of Spyderco, that his products look like they were designed in the dark. Glesser took this as a compliment. Spyderco's products look a bit unusual, homely even, but that's because the company puts ergonomics and function before beauty. (Beauty doesn't get you much in the woods anyhow.) Don't get us wrong. The Poliwog looks a bit different, sure, but it's cool nonetheless. Kind of like Billy Bob Thornton. A ball-bearing locking system allows you to open this knife from either side with just one hand.
