Yamaha In-Line 4 Stroke 150 hp Outboard Motor
In the 1950's, Genichi Kawakami was searching for a way to make use of the idle machining equipment that had been used to manufacturer airplane propellers. He started Yamaha with a focus on motorcycles and then soon turned to outboards. Now the company has about 30% of the market, and for good reason. Take their In-Line 4 Stroke. It's a "Best Of" pick because of its great fuel economy and overall performance. Six sensors help the onboard microcomputer optimize engine timing, as well as balance the ideal air/fuel mixture. Twin high-speed fuel pumps pressurize the fuel for even better efficiency. What also helps this engine perform well is a separator that removes vapors from the fuel. A front mounted flush system that makes it much easier to flush the motor, whether on the trail or in the slip. Your fellow boaters will be envious. This is one smart motor that certainly floats to the top.

This past week was awesome for me. I spent it fishing on remote lakes around Red Lake Ontario. Our fishing boat was equipped with a lightweight 25hp Yamaha motor. It was extremely reliable, easy to use, and got us to the best spots on the lake quickly. Best of all it helped us catch a ton of walleye. I would not hesitate in hitting the water again with a Yamaha.

I have a 2005 Yamaha 115 4 stroke. That was supposed to be a good motor too, but I have had nothing but trouble. It is amazing that a product can be made that can have so many things go wrong with it. So far, two dealers have tried to fix it, but now I am off to number three...

when you are crossing the bar from one of Oregon's coastal rivers, you need a motor that you can rely upon. That's why our inline 4 stroke is on our North River Seahawk 21'. We know that if the ocean conditions change suddenly - and when does that not happen for the worse - that we need to be able to run for homw with a good margin of safety. My family's safety is first and foremost and I would not venture into the Pacifc with anything other than this motor!
