Knoll Albini Office Desk
As a company, Knoll knows design. You need only consider that they have more than 40 pieces in the permanent design collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Their Albini Office Desk is named after its designer, Franco Albini, a key figure among Italian "Neo-Rationalist" designers. Cut through the art speak and what Albini has done is create a desk that is quite contemporary yet maintains the allure of some traditional artisanship as well. This desk is made of square, chrome-plated steel tubes, polished plate glass and some painted wood. It's a floating pedestal desk, so its look suggests clarity and balance; a nice thing to suggest, especially on those days when you don't feel so clear or balanced. This "Best Of" choice, a merger of traditional sensibilities and contemporary cool, is ideal for the person who subscribes to an old-school work ethic yet embraces modern business approaches. Besides, just think of the fun you'll have calling yourself a Neo-Rationalist.
After thorough independent research, we selected the Knoll Albini Office Desk as a 3LUXE "Best Of", to see our other two Desk selections visit our Desk Overview.
