Eames Storage Units
The Eames Storage Units landed "Best Of" status because of their flexibility. With these units you have enclosed spaces for files and other items, such as energy bars or a box of tissues, that you'd rather people not see, And you also have open spaces to display family photos, industry awards or some cool office knick-knacks that you definitely want people to see. These hip units were the brainchild of Charles and Ray Eames, big names in the world of furniture design. They initially created these units as part of work they produced for a 1949 exhibition at the Detroit Institute of Art. The units come in five configurations of cases, cabinets and drawers, and they're offered in two color schemes: neutrals and brights. They're made of dimpled and molded plywood and painted hardboard. Herman Miller touts the units' strength and durability. That's a good thing because you would want an investment of this sort ($2,595) to last quite a while. The first thing you store in these units should probably be the receipt.
From independent research, we selected the Eames Storage Units as a 3LUXE "Best Of". To see our other Office Cabinet selections visit our Office Cabinet Overview.
