Goodyear Industrial Garden Hose
This “Best Of” water hose is the one contractors and landscapers favor because it is so hard-wearing you can use it for just about any task, and it will last for years. Made of premium, heavy-duty reinforced PVC, it handles hot water as well as cold, so it’s useful for a lot more demanding jobs than simply sprinkling the lawn, though it’s excellent for that as well. Power washing, for example. For demanding applications, you want the outside of your hose to have a hide about as tough as an alligator, and this one doesn’t disappoint. It’s just as flexible as a ‘gator, too. With very good burst resistance, this hose will survive a lot of abuse and still deliver the full force of Niagara if you need it. Its heavy-duty brass couplings will handle years of use, and the hose itself rarely crimps. The amazing thing is that despite knowing the kind of treatment this hose is going to get, Goodyear gives it a life warranty. You can’t get more assurance than that.
From independent research, we selected the Goodyear Industrial Garden Hose as a 3LUXE "Best Of". To see our other two Hose selections visit our Hose Overview.

I purchased a 75 ft length of Goodyear commercial grade garden hose at Home Depot several years ago. The red outer covering on the hose is beginning to crack. How do I exchange this hose for a new similar length of hose?

I bought this so called "commercial" hose thinking it would replace my American Standard "contractor" hose from 10 years ago (also 3/4", also terra cotta color). The quality is nowhere comparable. There is no quality.
This hose constantly kinks, even when you take great pains to untwist it all the time. It is rigid and not flexible, which is what makes it kink so much. Every time you pull it it will kink. It will even kink if you pick it up and pull it without any twists, in your hand, unless it is full of water. Once it kinks once or more in the same place, it will eventually puncture. Mine punctured in three places. And, it cannot be repaired, because the 3/4" diameter is too wide for the 1/2" - 3/4" repair kits in the stores. I tried four different types of kits before I threw the hose out.
Around 10 years ago I bought an American Standard "contractor grade" hose from Home Depot with the same appearance. That hose wintered outside in the snow, was capable of being driven over on a gravel driveway, and lasted 9 years before it sprung a single leak. This hose lasted 6 weeks before it sprang a leak.
Never again. This is a junk Goodyear product and they should be ashamed to put their name on it.
This is a cheap, junk product. Do not buy.

I have had several of these hoses and each of them has now developed aneurysms which usually end up bursting. They kink constantly, even when pulling straight off of the reel on which they are stored, empty (water off and drained from the hose. thus no pressure). I have repaired these hoses several times now, using 3/4 inch repair kits but note, the hose is NOT 3/4 inch. The outer diameter may be 3/4 inch but the hose portion (the PVC interior core) is NOT. Consequently, getting a tight repair that does not leak is very difficult because of the different diameters. The review above is baloney. This hose is not worth buying. I do NOT recommend this hose.

I have had 2 of these hoses, first one punctured, So I took it back to the store and they gave me a new one because it has a life warranty on it.
I love this product, it lasts forever because whenever something happens to it, I get another free.
