Magellan is widely recognized as a leader in handheld GPS systems. Their eXplorist XL GPS makes it clear why. This “Best of” is the big screen of handheld GPS units. Its display is 3.5 inchesand backlit to provide vibrant color. Yet at 12 ounces, it's also quite portable. It's user-friendly, too, with intuitive navigation. (We find little more ironic or frustrating than getting lost within your GPS system!) The eXplorist XL offers one-button shortcuts to key features as well as joystick control. With four navigation screens (map, compass, locator and satellite status), you have multiple ways to figure out where you are and where you need to go. The eXplorist XL GPS appears as rugged as the outdoors. It's rubber-armored, impact-resistant plastic casing looks like it can take a beating. And the way we drop things, that's a nice attribute.
