GPSmap 60CSx
Garmin International is part of a company that makes navigation equipment for the aviation and marine markets, as well as the consumer market. In fact, their first GPS handhelds supported Coalition forces in the Gulf War. So we think it's fair to say they know something about getting around. Whether you’re in plane, a boat or in hiking boots. Garmin's GPSmap 60CSx is mighty product in a small package. Weighing only 7.5 ounces with two AA batteries (not included), this “Best of” still packs an impressive list of features. For one, those two batteries will keep you powered for 18 hours of typical use. The built-in trip computer includes an odometer, stopped timing, moving average and more. If you're climbing a mountain or traversing hilly terrain, this model will compute your elevation as well as rate of ascent and descent and other metrics. For those who like to catch their own food while out in the wild, you'll find celestial tables for sun and moon calculations. That way, you'll know the best time to hunt or fish wherever it is you find yourself.
From independent research, we selected the GPSmap 60CSx as a 3LUXE "Best Of". To see our other two Handheld GPS selections visit our Handheld GPS Overview.
