Magellan Gin Review

Magellan Gin

Magellan
Named for the explorer who introduced Old Europe to so many priceless spices, Magellan gin has become a favorite worldwide. When the company changed the signature blue color (which comes from the addition of iris roots and flowers) and merely colored the bottle, gin connoisseurs complained ceaselessly until the original recipe was brought back on the market. After three distillations, Magellan's master distiller adds the botanicals (juniper berries, cloves, cardamom, licorice, nutmeg, grains of paradise and coriander, to name a few) and distills the gin a fourth time. This complex, time-consuming process makes Magellan's taste so special. A mixture of floral and spice, this "Best Of" has a soft entry and a crisp, clean finish. Perfect with its traditional companions tonic and lime, Magellan is sure to make Martini fanatics go mad for the way the soft blue looks in a glass (try it with olive juice for a Dirty Martini).
