Orvis bills their Helios Zero Gravity rods as the most advanced in the world. That may be an over-statement, but if it is, according to our review, it's a minor one. The beauty of this "Best Of" honoree is in its exclusive combination of materials: boron, thermoplastic resins, graphite and a new unidirectional graphite scrim used in satellites. Sounds like materials on a jet fighter or a satellite, doesn't it? This is the lightest rod Orvis has ever made, allowing for a terrific feel. But this rod is no sissy. It can put maximum pressure on a fish for a quick catch and a speedy release. And it can handle scrapes and bruises.
