Ross Momentum
If you're a fisherman who worries about landing the big one, then this "Best Of" selection deserves your attention. The carbon fiber used for the drag system is, to employ an understatement, very strong. It has a 700 "ksi" rating, which means it can withstand a tension load of 700,000 pounds per square inch. According to Ross, this makes their Momentum Reels some 16 times stronger than traditional aluminum reels. In other words, you could fish for submarines with this reel. To get a good perspective on this, the aluminum used to produce Ross products is 45ksi; meaning it can resist a tension load of 45,000 pounds per square inch of material. This is pretty impressive until you realize that the carbon fiber used in the Momentum drag system is 700ksi � vastly stronger than aluminum, steel and even titanium!
