If small but mighty is what you're looking for in a flashlight, then this "Best Of" selection deserves your attention. The L4 LumaMax will fit in your shirt pocket, yet its light-emitting diode (LED) will produce a clear, smooth beam of light almost seven times that coming from a standard two D-cell flashlight. With no filament to burn out or to break, the LED in the L4 LumaMax will last for thousands of hours. The LED isn't the only thing that's tough about this model, though. Its aerospace-grade aluminum casing will stand up to some significant abuse. And its O-ring is sealed, lending some measure of waterproofing. The light's window is made of tempered Pyrex glass, so you need not worry about the heat from the light weakening the lens.
