Patagonia Stretch SST Jacket
However you enjoy yourself outdoors, Patagonia is most likely a brand name you're familiar with. The company started as a small outfit making tools for rock and mountain climbers. It's now one of the most established names in outdoor wear and gear among climbers, weekend hikers and, yes, fly fishermen. Patagonia's Stretch SST Jacket captured a "Best Of" distinction for a host of features, top among them its soft-as-rabbit-fur material that is light and durable, but also waterproof and breathable. The front, high volume pockets will hold even those big daddy fly boxes. And the pockets sit low so as to stay out of the way of oars and fly line. (Translation: you'll curse less in this jacket.) The Stretch SST also has small pockets inside for tippet and the like. For those who fish in the fall and winter, you'll appreciate the fleece-lined hand-warming pockets. The zippered back pocket, with a flap for security, will hold lots of extra gear. Think of this jacket as a marriage between rock climbing and fly fishing.
