Apple iMac
If you prefer a desktop and its durability and performance to a laptop but hate how much space they take up in your cramped office or dorm, Apple has solved your dilemma. Apple’s new Apple iMac packs a complete, high-performance desktop computer into a beautifully thin LCD monitor. Available in 20” and 24” models, this “Best Of” features the Intel Core 2 Duo processor at speeds of up to 2.4 GHz, with available upgrades on the 24” model to the Intel Core 2 Extreme processor at 2.8 GHz for maximum performance. Cleverly integrated into the iMac is a slot-loading SuperDrive that lets you play and burn your own CDs and even double-layer DVDs. And, there’s no disc tray—just slide the disc right in. Included is built-in wireless, Mac OS X and the new iLife ’08, so you’ll be sharing photos, creating movies and building web sites out of the box. The flat-panel, 16:10 wide aspect ratio LCD offers 1680 x 1050 pixels (20”) and 1920 x 1200 pixels (24”) for a brilliant, ultra-sharp picture.
After thorough independent research, we selected the Apple iMac as a 3LUXE "Best Of", to see our other two Desktop PC selections visit our Desktop PC Overview.

Please Note: There is no such thing as an "iMac G5" anymore. As the summary does correctly state however, the new iMac sports an Intel processor (not a PowerPC G5). And it's probably that much better now that the new Mac OS 10.5 is out - be sure to get an iMac with it either pre-installed or with the option to get the new OS for free!
