Hasselblad Ultra-Wide Angle 28mm f 4.0 Review

Hasselblad Ultra-Wide Angle 28mm f 4.0

Hasselblad Ultra-Wide Angle 28mm
For picture angles you can’t achieve any other way, this new ultra-wide angle lens is—gulp—an amazing “Best Of.” The HCD 4/28, designed to be paired exclusively with the company’s flagship H3D camera, is the most extreme wide-angle lens available in medium format. It allows you to take full advantage of the camera’s excellent 48mm X 36mm digital sensor. With a lens this wide (roughly equivalent to an 18mm lens in 35mm film format), you can get literally everything in the shot. This is the optic to use for shooting the monster stuff: Mount Everest (you’ll be able to get the Khumbu Glacier at its foot), the glittering 240-feet-long Hall of Mirrors at Versailles, the Navy’s USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier. Heck, you can get the whole carrier in the frame. Specialized lenses like this, best suited to architecture and landscape photography, are a total luxury. Sure, you may admit you don’t really need it. But when you yearn for maximum creativity, and you’re a Hasselblad überfan, this is the lens to spoil yourself with.

After thorough independent research, we selected the Hasselblad Ultra-Wide Angle 28mm as a 3LUXE "Best Of", to see our other two Camera Lens selections visit our Camera Lens Overview.
